esearch Interests: My interests lie within the field of genomics and functional genomics, particularly in identifying genes and/or markers that may have phenotypic importance for the aquaculture sector. As a consequence, these findings can enable the implementation of genetic improvement programs directed, for example, towards genetic resistance to diseases or genes associated with reproductive enhancement, among others. To achieve this, we employ a series of sequencing and de novo annotation tools for transcripts and genomes, as well as genetic silencing tools like RNAi and genomic editing (for gene dysfunction) such as CRISPR/Cas.
